8th grade students finally tested their 3D Printed ArtBot bodies! Great job, 8th graders!
During the Heat Transfer unit, 8th grade students combined water at different temperatures to determine the final temperature after mixing. If they calculated and measured correctly, then what the temperature should have been was close to what they calculated it should be!
8th Grade students made electromagnets out of batteries, nails, and wires! They picked up as many paperclips as they could.
8th Graders Doing Science
As an introduction to electricity, students experimented with static charges! They balanced a matchstick on top of a horizontal and vertical nickel, placed a cup over the objects, rubbed a balloon to give it a negative charge, and brought the balloon close to the matchstick. The balloon made the matchstick move, even through the cup! Ask your child to explain why!
8th Graders designed a roller coaster track for a marble last week! They will calculate the kinetic energy of the marble, then design an experiment based on their original roller coaster design. Stay tuned for more pictures!
